
The Department of Monitoring and Evaluation under the Ministry of Budget and Economic Planning, Enugu State, led by the Honorable Commissioner, Chief Barr. Chris-Roberts Ozongwu, embarked on an inspection tour of various government projects in Ngwo and environs. The visit was part of the Ministry’s commitment to ensuring that all government projects are executed in line with approved standards and timelines.
During the visit, the team inspected the nearly completed health center in Ngwoasa. The facility is expected to significantly improve healthcare delivery in the area once completed. The Commissioner expressed satisfaction with the level of work done and encouraged the contractors to maintain the momentum until the project is fully delivered.
The team also visited multiple smart school construction sites across different wards, including Christ High School Abor, Community Primary School Nkwo Obodo Ngwo uno, Community High School Obioma, Hill Top Primary School Ngwo, the Umuase Imeama Ngwo and Nsude projects. The smart schools the commissioner stated, when operational will greatly enhance the quality of our children education by providing them modern and innovative learning skills such as AI, critical thinking and problem solving methods. End result smart children ready to take on the world.
Chief Barr. Chris-Roberts Ozongwu used the opportunity to commend the Executive Governor of Enugu State, Dr. Peter Ndubuisi Mbah, for his visionary leadership and the transformative development taking place across the state. He described the Governor’s efforts as impactful and people-oriented, especially in the areas of education, healthcare, infrastructure, agric and transport.
The inspection exercise reflects the state government’s continued commitment to delivering quality projects that directly benefit its citizens and promote sustainable development across all sectors.
The Department of Monitoring and Evaluation will continue to track the progress of these and other government projects across Enugu State. Further inspections and evaluations will be conducted as necessary to ensure effective implementation and achievement of the desired outcomes. He also called on the general public to own the projects being undertaken in their neighbourhoods and monitor them as they are in effect discharging their duty to ensure that their taxes are well utilised and avoid being shortchanged by contractors who were paid to deliver good jobs that will stand the test of time.
